Billing FAQ
Last updated Mar 18, 2026
When am I charged?
You're charged immediately when you first subscribe, then on the same date each month (or year for annual plans). For example, if you subscribe on March 15, you'll be charged on the 15th of each following month.
How do annual plans work?
Annual plans are a single upfront payment for 12 months of access. The Adventurer annual plan is $40/year (saves $20 vs. monthly), and the Dungeon Master annual plan is $72/year (saves $36 vs. monthly). Annual plans auto-renew unless cancelled.
How do I update my payment method?
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Update Payment Method
- Enter your new card details
Your new payment method will be used for the next billing cycle.
Can I get a refund?
We offer refunds within 7 days of your initial subscription or renewal if you haven't used premium features extensively during that period. Contact us at hello@contact.lorekeeperttrpg.com with your account email and we'll process it promptly.
For annual plans, partial refunds are available on a prorated basis within the first 30 days.
What happens if my payment fails?
If a payment fails, we'll retry the charge a few times over the next few days. You'll receive an email notification asking you to update your payment method. Your access continues during the retry period. If payment isn't resolved within about 2 weeks, your account reverts to the Free tier — but no data is deleted.
Do you store my credit card information?
No. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified — the highest level of payment security.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan and select the annual option. The switch takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Any remaining credit from your monthly plan is applied to the annual charge.
Do I need a paid plan to join someone's campaign?
No. Players only need a Free account to join campaigns, use the player portal, participate in live combat, and view shared content. Only the DM needs the Dungeon Master plan.
I'm a DM and a player — which plan do I need?
The Dungeon Master plan covers everything. It includes all Adventurer features (unlimited characters, homebrew) plus the full campaign management toolkit. You don't need separate accounts.
