Managing Your Subscription

Accessing Billing

Go to Settings → Billing (or click your avatar → Settings → Billing). This page shows your current plan, next billing date, and payment method.

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select your new plan (Adventurer or Dungeon Master)
  4. Confirm payment — the upgrade takes effect immediately

When upgrading mid-cycle, you're charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in your billing period. You'll have access to all new features right away.

Downgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select the lower tier

What happens to your data when downgrading:

  • Dungeon Master → Adventurer: Your campaigns are preserved but become read-only. You can still view all your sessions, NPCs, encounters, and notes — you just can't create new ones or edit them until you upgrade again. Your players can still access any shared content.
  • Adventurer → Free: Your homebrew monsters, spells, and magic items are preserved but hidden from compendium searches. Extra characters beyond the Free tier's limit of 2 become read-only. All your data stays safe.
  • No data is ever deleted when you downgrade. Everything is waiting for you if you upgrade again.

The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your current tier's features until then.

Cancelling Your Subscription

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm cancellation

After cancelling, your plan continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free tier. See "Downgrading" above for what happens to your data — nothing is deleted.

Reactivating After Cancellation

If you cancelled but your billing period hasn't ended yet, you can reactivate from the same Billing page. After the period ends, you'll need to subscribe again as a new subscription.
