Spell Slots
Spell slots represent your magical energy. Each slot has a level (1st through 9th), and casting a spell expends a slot of that level or higher.
The Spell Slot Tracker on your character sheet shows your total and remaining slots for each level. Click a slot to mark it as expended, or click an expended slot to restore it.
Warlock Pact Magic slots are tracked separately and labeled as "Pact Slots."
Prepared Spells
Most spellcasters must choose which spells to prepare each day. The Spell Preparation panel lets you toggle spells on and off:
- Prepared spells have a filled indicator
- Unprepared spells have an empty indicator
- Cantrips are always prepared and can't be toggled off
Your spellcasting ability, Spell Save DC, and Spell Attack Bonus are displayed at the top of the spells section.
Spell Details
Each spell in your list shows:
- Level — cantrip, 1st, 2nd, etc.
- School — Abjuration, Evocation, Necromancy, etc.
- Casting Time — 1 action, bonus action, reaction, or longer
- Range — touch, self, 30 feet, etc.
- Duration — instantaneous, concentration, 1 minute, etc.
- Ritual tag if the spell can be cast as a ritual (without expending a slot)
During Combat
Your DM can track your spell slot usage directly in the Combat Tracker. Expended slots during combat are reflected on your character sheet.
Recovering Spell Slots
- Short Rest — Warlocks recover Pact Magic slots
- Long Rest — all spell slots are restored to full
