New Player Checklist
Welcome to Lorekeeper! Follow these steps to get set up for your first session.
Account Setup
- Create an account — sign up at lorekeeperttrpg.com.
- Complete onboarding — choose your role (Player) and set your preferences.
- Enable dark mode — if you prefer, toggle it in Settings.
Character Creation
- Create your character — go to Characters and click New Character.
- Follow the wizard — the 7-step wizard guides you through species, class, ability scores, background, equipment, spells, and details. See Creating Your First Character for a detailed walkthrough.
- Upload a portrait — add a character image to make your sheet stand out.
- Review your character sheet — check that your ability scores, HP, AC, and equipment look correct.
Joining a Campaign
- Accept the invite — your DM will send you an email invitation. Click the link to join.
- Assign your character — once in the campaign, assign your character so the DM can include you in sessions and combat.
During Play
- Track your HP — use the HP tracker on your character sheet to take damage and heal.
- Manage spell slots — if you are a spellcaster, mark off spell slots as you cast.
- Toggle conditions — if you become Poisoned, Prone, etc., toggle the condition on your sheet.
- Move your token — in live combat with a battle map, drag your token (the one with the gold border) to move.
- Take rests — use Short Rest or Long Rest buttons to recover HP, spell slots, and resources.
Between Sessions
- Write a journal entry — record your character's thoughts and discoveries. Only you can see these.
- Check quest updates — visit the campaign portal to see quest progress.
- Level up — when you have enough XP, the Level Up button appears on your character sheet.
