Using the Character Notes Editor

Opening the Notes Editor
- Go to your character page
- Click the three-dot menu (more actions)
- Select Edit Notes
The first time you open the editor, Lorekeeper auto-generates notes from your character data — ability scores, combat stats, spells, equipment, features, backstory, and more.
Editing Your Notes
The markdown editor includes a full toolbar for formatting:
- Bold, Italic, and Headings
- Blockquotes, bullet lists, and numbered lists
- Tables and horizontal rules
- Links
- Side-by-side live preview
- Fullscreen mode
Click Save to store your changes.
Regenerating Notes
When your character levels up or gains new equipment, you can refresh your notes:
- Click Regenerate from Data
- Review the freshly generated content in the comparison panel
- Choose Replace Current Notes or Keep Current
Downloading Your Notes
- .md — Markdown file for any text editor
- PDF — Styled PDF for printing or sharing
Tips
- Great for session-by-session character journals alongside the Journal feature
- Export your character notes as a PDF for a comprehensive character reference at the table
- Notes persist between sessions — add your own backstory details, character goals, and session highlights
