Handouts & Sharing

Last updated Mar 18, 2026

What are Handouts?

Handouts are documents, images, or maps you share with your players during a campaign. Use them for letters, wanted posters, treasure maps, dungeon maps, or any visual aid.

Creating a Handout

  1. Go to your campaign and click Handouts in the sidebar
  2. Click New Handout
  3. Choose the handout type:
    • Text — write formatted content with the rich text editor
    • Image — upload an image file (JPG, PNG, WebP — max 10 MB)
    • Map — upload a map image for reference
  4. Fill in:
    • Title — a descriptive name
    • Session — optionally link to a specific session
    • Player Visible — toggle whether players can see this handout
  5. Click Save

Sharing Handouts

Each handout has a Share button that generates a public link. Anyone with the link can view the handout — no account required. This is useful for:

  • Sharing maps on a TV or projector during in-person play
  • Sending handouts to players who missed a session
  • Embedding in Discord or other chat apps

Player Access

Handouts marked as Player Visible appear in the Player Portal under the Handouts tab. Players can browse all visible handouts organized by session.

Tips

  • Upload battle maps as handouts for quick reference, even if you also use them in the Combat Tracker
  • Create text handouts for in-game letters, journal entries, or riddle clues
  • Use the session link to keep handouts organized chronologically
